Shirley Cox Walthour has over thirteen years of experience as an entrepreneur in the child care business.
Ms. Walthour has served families with children from ages 0 to 12 years. She gained additional experience in the field of Early Education while employed in the capacity of Executive Director of a multiple site child care facility in Central Florida. Also, working in the Primary Grades of the Private school sector was one of the highlights of her teaching experience. As an Adjunct Trainer with a local Resource and Referral Agency in Central Florida, she continues to build on her knowledge and experience related to the Early Education field and children.
In 2001 she mentored and counseled a host of Early Childhood Professionals and Educators. She is a former National CDA (Child Development Associate) Advisor, State Trainer, and Child Care business consultant. Business owners, Early Childhood Educators, teachers and parents have all benefited from her knowledge in the child care field. She is a Poet, Songwriter and Publisher/Producer of Gospel Music, and the Author of The Little Sparrow Adventure Life Skills Curriculum. She is joined by her co-author and business partner, Ruby Cox Smith, who brings a plethora of knowledge and experience to the company.
She has been a Veteran Educator/Administrator in the Public and Private school sector for more than 30 years, as well as, Trainer and Instructor at the Post-secondary level. Ms. Smith continues to display her enthusiasm for the growth and development of young children through her professional contributions as co-author of The Little Sparrow Adventure Curriculum.
